McDaniel opens dual schedule with win

Glotfelty pins seals 22-19 victory for Green Terror

YORK, Pa. - With McDaniel trailing 19-16, Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) recorded a first-period pin to lift his team to a 22-16 victory over 24th-ranked York (Pa.) in non-conference wrestling action on Wednesday.

The Green Terror (1-0) and Spartans (0-3) split wins in the 10 bouts but it was Glotfelty's 1-minute, 24-second fall that was the difference in the final score.

York's Aaron Repman opened the match with an 11-7 win at 125 befor a Tommy Goretsas (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) 12-3 win at 133 gave the visitors a 4-3 advantage.

Mike Tancredi (Wall, N.J./Wall Twp.) and Brent Lowe (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) added back-to-back wins to stretch the McDaniel lead to 13-3 in the match.

Tancredi (141) notched a 3-2 win before Lowe (149) recorded a 32-second pin.

Wins by Alan Dyer (6-3 decision) and Matt Heisey (1:44 fall) once again trimmed the York deficit to one at 13-12.

Scott Forrester's (Manchester, N.J./Manchester Twp.) 5-2 win at 174 made it a 16-12 match but Alex Martocello used an 11-2 major decision to knot the match at 16-all and George Saliba, by virtue of his 7-2 win at 197, gave the Spartans the lead before Glotfelty's match-clinching pin.

McDaniel returns to action at the Ursinus Fall Brawl on Saturday. Action begins at 10 a.m.
