Glotfelty named Wrestler of the Year

Junior becomes fourth Green Terror grappler to earn top honor

LANCASTER, Pa. - Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett), a junior on the McDaniel wrestling team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Wrestler of the Year in balloting of the head coaches announced on Thursday.

Glotfelty, ranked ninth in the latest NWCA/Brute-Adidas Division III individual rankings at heavyweight, posted a 35-4 record during the regular season. He went a perfect 7-0 in CC dual-meet competition this season and will likely once again enter Saturday's conference championship as the top seed.

He leads the conference with 15 pins.

The 2009 champion and 2008 runner-up, Glotfelty went 37-4 during his sophomore campaign and earned All-America honors by finishing eighth at the NCAA Division III championship meet.

For his career, Glotfelty enters Saturday championship at Stevens with a career record of 88-18

Glotfelty becomes the fourth Green Terror wrestler to be named Wrestler of the Year by the conference, joining Ted Speers (1996), Charlie Conaway (2000) and Tony Howard (2006).
