Taking the next step

WESTMINSTER, Md. – In an individual sport such as wrestling, a team has to have quality members through the lineup to be successful as a team. McDaniel enters the 2010-11 season with experience from the top of its lineup to the bottom.

Led by senior heavyweight Brock Glotfelty (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) – a two-time Centennial Conference (CC) champion, reigning conference wrestler of the year and 2009 All-American, the Green Terror will seek to build on a disappointing fifth-place finish at last year's CC Championship.

After finishing third during the dual meet season, Glotfelty was the team's lone individual champion while Earl Eppard (Baltimore, Md./Lansdowne), Tommy Goretsas (Hampstead, Md./North Carolll) and Brent Lowe all joined him as medalists.

Eppard (125) and Goretsas (133) return to anchor the lower weight classes while Will Yeo (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) joins Glotfelty at the top of the lineup, returning to his spot at 197.

A talented group of newcomers will help head coach Davey Blake, now in his fourth year as mentor, shore up the middle weights and give McDaniel the depth it needs to contend for the conference title come February.
