Glotfelty wins twice on Day 1 to secure All-America status

Making his third appearance at the national tournament, Glotfelty secured All-America status for the second time in his career with a 2-0 start to his championship weekend.
The senior, seeded fourth at heavyweight, received a bye in the first round before defeating Williams' Tom Foote 10-4 to move into the quarterfinals.
In the night session, Glotfelty moved into the championship semifinals with a 3-1 victory over Centenary's Joseph Zitone to secure the top-eight finish necessary to become an All-American.

Glotfelty will face top-seeded John Helgerson (Wartburg) in his semifinal bout in the third session, which begins at 10 a.m. CST on Saturday. Elmhurst's Mark Corsello, the No. 2 seed, and Concordia-Moorehead's Tom Bouressa, unseeded, face off in the day's other semifinal.
The winner meet in the title bout, which begins with the 125 match at 7 p.m. CST.
The losers of the two semifinal matches will meet the winners of the consolation quarterfinals in the consolation semifinals.
