INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA released its brackets for the 2013 NCAA Division III wrestling championships and McDaniel's Ryan O'Boyle (North Reading, Mass./Central Catholic) earned the eighth seed at 133.
Joe Camlin (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) will also compete at the championship but enters the tournament unseeded at heavyweight.
Competition will begin at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday at 11 a.m. CDT and continue through Saturday.
It is the first appearance at the national championship for both O'Boyle and Camlin.
O'Boyle, a freshman, enters the championship at 25-6, earning a bid into the field after finishing second at the NCAA Division III East Regional on Mar. 2.
The runner-up at the Centennial Conference (CC) championship a week earlier, O'Boyle once again fell to NYU's Brandon Jones. Jones, the fifth seed in the national bracket, downed O'Boyle 3-1 in sudden victory to earn the East Regional title.
O'Boyle will open his weekend against Springfield's Derek Adams.
Camlin, a senior, enters the championship at 15-2 on the season, earning a bid into the field after finishing second at the East Regional.
The CC champion at heavyweight, Camlin dropped a 9-4 decision in the regional final to Centenary's Joseph Zitrone, the No. 2 in the national bracket.
Camlin will open his weekend against Olivet's Jake Ceslick. The winner of that match advances into the round of 16 against fourth-seeded James Buss (Loras).
If either wrestler advances to Saturday's competition, he would be guaranteed a finish of no worse than eighth place and would garner All-America honors.
