Hollinger makes 13 saves but McDaniel falls 1-0 to Mustangs

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Melinda Kane knocked home a goal at the 62:11 mark, giving Stevenson a 1-0 victory over McDaniel in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday.

The Mustangs (2-1-1), who finished with a 26-8 advantage in shots for the game, took 17 shots in the first half but could not find the back of the net.

Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made 13 saves for the Green Terror (1-4), including stopping 10 shots in the first half.

Off a restart at the top of the box in the 63rd minute, Katie Decker found Kane on the back post for the game's only score.

Stevenson also had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Liz Beall (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) took four of the eight shots for McDaniel.

The Green Terror returns to action when it opens the Centennial Conference schedule at Muhlenberg on Saturday, Sept. 19. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
