Green Terror, Hornets battle to 1-all draw
WINCHESTER, Va. – Jan Wooley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) turned away 10 shots to help McDaniel forge a 1-all double-overtime draw at Shenandoah in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday.
Hilary Hanus (Hockessin, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts) staked the Green Terror (1-2-2) to a 1-0 first-half lead.
Jessi Dennis evened the game for the Hornets (3-2-2) to eventually force overtime.
With 5:57 remainining in the first half, Hanus tallied her second goal of the season, scoring unassisted.
Amber Womack found Dennis in the 53rd minute to even the game at 1-all.
Shenandoah finished the game with a 24-4 advantage in shots, including a 9-0 showing after halftime but Woolley made half of her saves in the second half and two extra 10-minute sessions to preserve the team's second tie of the season.
The Hornets also had an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
McDaniel returns to action at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
