Garnet hands McDaniel 4-0 loss

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Megan Colombo scored twice to bookend Swarthmore's 4-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.

The Garnet (4-4-2, 3-1 CC) finished with a 23-5 advantage in shots and a 5-0 edge in corner kicks to hand the Green Terror (2-4-2, 1-2 CC) its second straight shutout loss.

Columbo finished a long through ball by Hannah Purkey in the 20th minute to open the scoring.

Amber Famiglietti finished from the top of the box to double the advantage just 1:37 later.

Aly Passanante headed home an Elizabeth Mills feed at the 63:28 mark before Columbo tied the Swarthmore all-time goal-scoring record unassisted in the 69th minute.

Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made 10 saves for McDaniel.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Goucher on Tuesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
