Pair of second-half goals lifts Gettysburg
Bullets hand McDaniel fourth straight shutout loss
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Lindsey Lyons broke a scoreless deadlock in the 62nd minute to help lift Gettysburg to a 2-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Tuesday.
The Bullets (10-5, 5-2 CC) added a Casey Attanasio marker in the 88th minute to set the final margin.
Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made seven saves to pace the Green Terror (2-8-3, 1-6 CC), who was shut out for the fourth straight game.
Off a corner, Lyons put a ball inside the far post for a 1-0 lead at the 61:58 mark before Rachel West chipped the ball to Attanasio, who shot from 18 yards out to set the final margin with 2:13 to play.
Gettysburg finished with a 25-2 advantage in shots.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
