Fords notch 5-0 victory over McDaniel in regular-season finale

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Katie Van Aken recorded two goals and two assists to propel Haverford to a 5-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Saturday.

The Fords (12-5, 7-3 CC) secured one of the five CC tournament spots with their 10th shutout win of the season.

Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made seven saves for the Green Terror (3-10-3, 2-8 CC), who was outshot 30-3 on the day.

Van Aken finished an Elizabeth Lavitan cross just 8:52 into the game for an early 1-0 lead.

Michele Buonora tallied in the 15th minute off feeds from Van Aken and Sarah Andrade to double the advantage.

Van Aken made it a 3-0 game at halftime, scoring unassisted in the 28th minute.

Maura Schiefer converted a penalty kick in the 51st minute before Sophie Eiger scored in the 82nd minute off Van Aken's second assist of the day.
