Woolley makes four saves
LANCASTER, Pa. – In a game of very few offensive opportunities, Franklin & Marshall took advantage of one of its chances for a 1-0 Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.
Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made four saves for the Green Terror (0-4, 0-2 CC) in net while Amanda McGowan made one for the Diplomats (1-2-1, 1-1 CC) at the other end.
The teams played through a very defensive first half in which the two squads combined for just four shots – all by Franklin & Marshall.
After the Diplomats peppered the goal early in the second half, Jen Korngut finally found the back of the net after dribbling by her defender and putting a shot to the near post at 59:00.
Franklin & Marshall finished with an 11-2 advantage in shots and 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
