Crawford scores goal
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Gettysburg scored in the 16th minute and didn't stop until the end, defeating McDaniel 5-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Wednesday.
Kelly Crawford (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) scored just 1:05 into the second half for the Green Terror (2-11, 1-6 CC), breaking up the shutout.
Casey Attanasio led the Bullets (9-5, 6-1 CC) with two goals.
Directly off a Meg Castranova corner, Molly Phillips headed home the ball for a 1-0 lead at the 15:31 mark.
Attanasio doubled the advantage, placing a high shot right under the crossbar after Rachel West broke away and played around a pair of defenders to find Attanasio at the 29-minute mark.
Meaghan Sturgill (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) played the ball into the box in the first minute of the second half and Crawford knocked it across the line to draw the hosts within one.
Just 6:24 later, Kaeley McEvoy bounced a shot off a defender that Becca Kent collected and placed into the near corner.
Attanasio hit the back of the net on a long shot in the 63rd minute and Jill Baltz tapped home a second goal off a corner with 3.1 seconds showing.
