WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel scored twice in a 6-minute, 47-second span to break a 2-all deadlock and defeat Ferrum 4-2 in non-conference women's soccer action on Saturday.

Meghan Sturgill (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) scored twice to lead the Green Terror (2-0) to its first 2-0 start since 2003.

Kara Pegram led the Panthers (1-3) with both of the visitors' goals.

Knotted at 2-all, Sturgill found Julia Pope (Manchester, Md./North Carroll) to break the deadlock at the 71:01 mark.

In the 78th minute, Sturgill broke through with an unassisted marker to seal the victory.

Chloe Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) finished a Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) assist with 3:27 to play in the opening half.

Pegram tied the game 4:45 into the second half before Sturgill put the hosts back on top just 45 seconds later.

Another Pegram unassisted tally in the 64th minute tied the game once again.

McDaniel finished with a 23-10 advantage in shots.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
