WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel made the most of one of its opportunities in a game of few chances to defeat Neumann 1-0 in non-conference women's soccer action on Saturday.
Kelly Purcell (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) notched her first goal of the season, putting the Green Terror (6-5-1) on top with 1:35 to play in the opening half.
Briana King led the Knights (5-4-2) with four saves in goal.
The McDaniel did its job after that, holding Neumann to just one second-half shot. The Green Terror finished with a 6-3 advantage in shots and 4-1 edge in corner kicks for the game
Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) needed to make just one save for her fifth shutout of the year.
The Green Terror returns to action at Frostburg on Wednesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
