McDaniel to host ECAC first round

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will host Arcadia the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South women's soccer tournament on Wednesday. Game time is 2 p.m.

The second-seeded Green Terror (13-5-1) will take on the seventh-seeded Knights (11-4-5) in one of four first-round games on Wednesday. The winner of that game will face the winner of another first-round game between No. 3 seed Lebanon Valley (11-8-2) and No. 6 seed Swarthmore (9-5-2). No. 4 seed Grove City (11-9-1) and No. 5 Juniata (14-5) will play in another first-round game on Wednesday, meeting the winner of the game between No. 1 Stevenson (13-8-1) and No. 8 Alvernia (11-7-2).

The four winners will advance to the highest remaining seed for Saturday's semifinals and Sunday's championship game. Game times will be determined once the host is set.

The Green Terror advanced to the Centennial Conference (CC) tournament for the first time in program history, battling Muhlenberg to a scoreless draw in the first-round game before failing to advance in penalty kicks, 4-3.

Freshman Nicole Hill (Bowie, Md./Bowie) leads McDaniel with nine goals, six assists and 24 points.

Senior Julia Pope (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) has added seven goals, five assists and 21 points while sophomore Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) has chipped in seven goals, five assists and 19 points. McDaniel ranks second in the conference in scoring with 45 goals.

Freshman Haley Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) has a 1.14 goals-against average and a save percentage of .819. Her save percentage ranks fifth in the CC.
