KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sam Wilson (New Castle, Colo./Coal Ridge), a senior on the McDaniel women's soccer team, has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Scholar All-East Region team, released on Friday.
A defender, Wilson was tabbed honorable mention by the national organization also earned the Centennial Conference (CC) scholar-athlete award, entering the fall semester with a grade-point average of 3.977 in psychology.
She started all 19 games in which she has played and was a key member of a defense that had a 1.18 goals-against average. She also contributed five goals and an assist to the offense.
To be named to the NSCAA Scholar Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 throughout her career, start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member.
The Green Terror finished the season with an overall record of 13-6-1 (6-4 CC).
