Gibson tallies lone goal in shutout win

SALISBURY, Md. – McDaniel found the back of the net in the 38th minute for the game's only goal of a tightly-contested contest with Shenandoah at the Salisbury University Classic in women's soccer action on Saturday.

Kirsten Gibson (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) led the 16th-ranked Green Terror (1-1) with the game's lone tally.

Charlotte Evans led the Hornets (1-1) in goal with five saves.

Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) made four stops at the other end for the shutout victory.

Gibson fired home a shot into the bottom-left from the top of the box for the game's only goal at the 37:16 mark.

McDaniel finished with a slim 14-12 advantage in shots and 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action in the home opener against York (Pa.) on Thursday. Game time is 4 p.m.
