Clawson scores twice

CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson scored three goals in a 27-minute span to top McDaniel 3-2 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Katie Clawson (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) scored both goals for the Green Terror (11-5-1, 6-3-1 CC), who clinched a spot in the conference tournament but will have to await the results from the remainder of the night and weekend to see where its seeding lands for the tournament next week. Game matchups and times will be officially announced on Monday morning.

Elizabeth Krause led the Red Devils (11-4-1, 5-3-1 CC) with a goal and an assist.

Clawson staked McDaniel to an early 1-0 lead, scoring at the 16:04 mark.

Ellie Harris responded nearly four minutes later with the equalizer before Caitlin Farr put Dickinson on top 10 minutes later.

Krause stretched the lead to 3-1 just 1:50 into the second half before Clawson drew the Green Terror within one in the 81st minute.

McDaniel finished with a 19-8 advantage in shots but Mary Katherine Brosnan made 11 saves in goal for the Red Devils.

The Green Terror also had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Sydney Kelly (Windsor, Pa./Eastern York) made fives saves for McDaniel.
