WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel carried play for much of the game but couldn't find the back of the net until the 95th minute for a 1-0 win over Gettysburg in the first round of the 2017 Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer tournament on Wednesday.

Alyssa Johnston (West River, Md./Southern) scored the game-winner for the fourth-seeded Green Terror (12-5-1), who advance to Saturday's semifinals to meet top-seeded Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.

Brittany Smith led the fifth-seeded Bullets (9-7-2) with eight saves in goal.

McDaniel held a 17-3 advantage in shots through the 90 minutes of regulation but could not find the back of the net.

About four minutes into the first overtime, Abby Keen (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) took a corner from the right side. Her ball flicked off defenders in front of the goal to Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) on the back post. Farrell collected the ball, turned and passed it to the top of the box. Johnston fired into the top-left corner of the net for the game-winner and her first goal of the season with 5:51 on the clock.

The Green Terror also had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.

Sydney Kelly (Windsor, Pa./Eastern York) made two saves in goal for McDaniel.

Game time is 4 p.m. on Saturday.
