McDaniel to host first weekend of ECAC tournament

DANBURY, Conn. – McDaniel learned on Monday afternoon that its season will continue with a selection to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III women's soccer tournament.

The Green Terror (10-5-1) received the No. 2 overall seed and will host an opening weekend pod. McDaniel will host Brevard (11-7) in the first of two first-round games on Saturday at 11 a.m. Washington & Jefferson (9-8-2) will take on Pfeiffer (12-2) in the day's second matchup at 2 p.m.

The winners will meet in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 12 p.m. at McDaniel. Sunday's winner advances to the semifinals and final at the highest remaining seed on Nov. 17-18.

Freshman Hannah Schepers (Port Deposit, Md./St. Mark's) leads the team and conference with 13 goals. She is fourth in the conference with 26 points. Sophomore Maddie Schwartz (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) has added eight goals and three assists for 19 points. Senior Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) has four goals and four assists for 12 points. Senior Alyssa Johnston (West River, Md./Southern) has a team-high five assists.

Freshman Katherine Carstensen (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) has a 1.39 goals-against average and .754 save percentage. She is 7-3-1 in 11 starts in goal.
