Trio earns United Soccer Coaches Scholar honors Three members of the McDaniel women’s soccer team have been named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III Scholar All-South Region team while one was named a Scholar All-American. Sarah McDonald, Kristen Upton and Abby Keen were all Scholar All-South first-team selections. Upton also earned third-team Scholar America honors. Full Story
Bauman, Upton lead conference fall academic honors Taylor Bauman, a junior, and Kristen Upton, a senior, were named the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sports. November 6, 2017 McDaniel earns NCAA bid McDaniel learned its season will continue with an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III women’s soccer field. The Green Terror will travel to Virginia Beach, Va., for the opening round of the tournament. McDaniel will take on Lynchburg in the one first-round game on Saturday.
November 4, 2017 McDonald makes eight saves in semifinals Sarah McDonald returned to the net and made eight saves for the Green Terror. McDaniel and Johns Hopkins each scored a goal in the second half of the Centennial Conference semifinal. The game is officially recorded as a tie but the 10th-ranked and top-seeded Blue Jays advanced to the championship game 4-3 during the shootout.
November 2, 2017 McDaniel in third regional rankings McDaniel remained ninth in the latest release of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic regional rankings.
November 1, 2017 Johnston nets golden goal to advance to semis Alyssa Johnston scored the game-winner for the fourth-seeded Green Terror. McDaniel carried play for much of the game but couldn’t find the back of the net until the 95th minute for a 1-0 win over Gettysburg in the first round of the Centennial Conference tournament.
October 30, 2017 McDaniel to battle for CC title McDaniel will host Gettysburg in the first-round game of the 2017 Centennial Conference women’s soccer championship on Wednesday. Game time is 2:30 p.m. The fourth-seeded Green Terror faces the fifth-seeded Bullets with the winner advancing to Saturday’s semifinals at Johns Hopkins.
October 27, 2017 Allen-Gorman selected for USA Team at Futsal Women’s Worlds Chloe Allen-Gorman, a 2015 graduate of McDaniel, has been selected to play for the USA Team for the 2017 Women’s World Futsal Championship.
