Gettysburg downs McDaniel
Bullets swim to 54-32 win over Green Terror
WESTMINSTER, Md. - Caroline Coolidge won a pair of individual events to lead Gettysburg to a 54-32 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on Wednesday.
The Bullets (3-0, 2-0 CC) won the first eight events competed behind a pair of double winners.
Rachel Walega (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) led the Green Terror (1-3, 0-2 CC) with a victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.60).
Coolidge touched first in the longest and shortest events of the night. She won the 50 freestyle in a time of 26.24 before later winning the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:20.42.
Maggie Mulderrig was part of the 200 medley relay, which opened the meet with a victory in a time of 1:58.10 before recording an individual win in the 100 butterfly (1:03.17).
Megan Giroux (Damascus, Md./Damascus), Alyssa Romasco (Gilbertsville, Pa./Perkiomen) and Jessica Fry (St. Mary's, Ga./Camden County) and Andrea Mills (Laurel, Md./Laurel) added a win in the 200 free relay with a combined time of 1:51.40.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
