Ursinus remains perfect

Bears notch 59-35 win over McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. -Ursinus won seven of the first nine events competed behind 10 different victors for a 59-35 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on Saturday.

The Bears (4-0, 1-0 CC) opened the meet with a victory in the 400 medley relay. Sarah Ryan, Bridget Winn, Kathryn Pall and Melissa Krupa joined to win in a time of 4:36.05.

Jessica Fry (St. Mary's, Ga./Camden County) led the Green Terror (1-4, 0-3 CC) with a pair of individual victories, including the 1000 freestyle. Her winning time of 11:08.74 was fifth fastest in program history. She also touched first in the next event, winning the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:05.68.

Rachel Walega (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) added an individual win, touching first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:34.45. She was also part of the 400 freestyle relay that capped the meet with a win in a time of 4:01.36.

Alyssa Romasco (Gilbertsville, Pa./Perkiomen), Andrea Mills (Laurel, Md./Laurel) and Megan Giroux (Damascus, Md./Damascus) joined Walega on the relay team.

The Green Terror returns to action the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Dec. 5-6.
