Jacobs takes 200 free

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall won seven of the first eight events to help take a 55-30 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on Friday.

Lexie Jacobs (Forest Hill, Md./North Harford) led the Green Terror (1-7, 0-5 CC) with a victory in the 200 freestyle, drawing the meet within nine points after three of the 10 events.

Maggie Johns paced the Diplomats (4-2, 4-0 CC) with a pair of individual wins, touching first in the 400 IM (4:46.64) and 100 freestyle (57.03).

Jacobs won the 200 free by nearly four seconds, touching in a time of 2:04.60. She was also second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.24.

Rachel Walega (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) added a second individual victory for McDaniel on the night, winning the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:11.04.

The 200 freestyle relay of Jessica Fry (St. Mary's, Ga./Camden County), Monica Parcell (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro), Brittney Lenz (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and Meg Protzman (Elkridge, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) won with a time of 1:48.40.

Fry added a second-place finish in the 400 IM, finishing 0.6 seconds shy of her personal best in the event with a time of 4:48.83.

Kerrie Vanscoy (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:05.89.

Krista Hollingsworth and Katherine DeCrosta added two-win outings for Franklin & Marshall. The duo partnered with Jackie Behr and Ana Franzluebbers for a win in the 200 medley relay (1:55.55). Hollingsworth touched first in the 100 back (1:02.65) while DeCrosta won the 50 free (25.64).

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Elizabethtown on Wednesday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
