Gettysburg sweeps McDaniel

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Katie Taylor went 2-0 with wins in the top singles and doubles spots to lead Gettysburg to a 9-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Wednesday.

Taylor teamed with Bev Keys for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles for the Bullets (3-1, 2-0 CC), who got an 8-2 win from Laura Habecker and Meghan Fornshell in the No. 2 spot on the indoor courts of Hauser Field House.

Brittany Starlings (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and Carissa Grove (Boonsboro, Md./St. Maria Goretti) each won five games for the Green Terror.

Taylor defeated Starlings 6-4, 6-1 at first singles while Meg Kelly was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Grove at fourth singles.

McDaniel (0-7, 0-2 CC) returns to action at Penn State-Harrisburg on Friday. Match time is 3 p.m.
