Grove takes seven games

CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson capped a 9-0 victory over McDaniel with six straight-set wins in singles in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Tuesday.

Carissa Grove (Boonsboro, Md./St. Maria Goretti) led the Green Terror (3-7, 0-5 CC), winning seven games over her two matches. She teamed with Brittany Starlings (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) at first singles, falling to Alysia Rodgers and Shannon Lavery, 8-2.

At first singles, Rodgers prevailed over Grove, 6-3, 6-2.

Lavery was one of four other players for the Red Devils (8-2, 2-2 CC) to cap 2-0 days by dropping just one game in singles.

Lavery won second singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Brittany Zoll and Leigh Oczkowski won No. 2 doubles 8-1 before both notched 6-0, 6-1 victories at third and fourth singles, respectively.

Ilana Unger, who partnered with Sarah Cantor for an 8-2 win at third doubles, won No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

The Green Terror returns to action at Bryn Mawr on Sunday. Match time is 1 p.m.
