Patron wins third singles

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ursinus swept doubles play to key an 8-1 Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis victory over McDaniel on Saturday.

Kiersten Patron (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) recorded the lone point for the Green Terror (6-12, 0-10 CC), winning third singles in straight sets after a 7-1 tiebreaker to capture the second set, 7-6. She won the first set, 7-5.

Jami Dumler led the Bears (6-12, 1-8 CC) with a two-win day, including taking No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Dumler joined Renee Tornea for an 8-2 victory at third doubles.

Jimena Talavera and Heather McMasters partnered for an 8-2 win at first doubles while Jessica Tyrrell and Dana McDonough won No. 2 doubles by the same score.

Talavera, Tyrell and McDonough all rounded out double wins with straight-set victories in singles.

Talvera won first singles 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) while Tyrrell took second singles, 6-3, 6-1. McDonough was victorious at No. 4, 6-3, 6-0.
