Patron wins six games

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall swept double play en route to a 9-0 Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis victory over McDaniel on Tuesday.

Kiersten Patron (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) won six games to lead the Green Terror (2-10, 0-3 CC), teaming with Chelsea Barnett (Hanover, Pa./South Western) at first doubles. Anya Sahaydachnv and Meegan FitzMaurice teamed for an 8-2 win there. At first singles, FitzMaurice topped Patron, 6-4, 6-0.

Julia Fiala led the Diplomats (4-6, 2-3 CC) with a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles to cap a 2-0 day. She and Emily Gruenberg partnered to win third doubles, 8-2.

Gruenberg capped her 2-0 day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at fourth singles.

McDaniel returns to action on Thursday to conclude its match with Gettysburg. The match will resume in singles play at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
