Lewis, Johnson win third doubles

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Muhlenberg swept singles play to down McDaniel 8-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Saturday.

Lauren Lewis (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) and Angela Johnson (Lansdowne, Md.) teamed to lead the Green Terror (2-13, 0-7 CC), winning third doubles, 8-4.

Gabriela Contino led the Mules (4-8, 4-3 CC), going 2-0 and dropping just one game. Contino and Amanda von Taube partnered for an 8-1 win at second doubles before Contino won No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Emily Szulman added a 2-0 day, winning at second singles by a 6-0, 6-0 count. She teamed with Nina Sanders for an 8-2 win at first doubles.

Sanders took No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2 while van Taube won fourth singles, 6-1, 6-2.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Johns Hopkins on Wednesday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
