Schauer wins four games

TOWSON, Md. – Goucher swept doubles play and took all six singles matches in straight sets to defeat McDaniel 9-0 in non-conference women's tennis action on Friday.

Winsome Schauer (Hartford, Conn./Watkinson School) and Elise O'Meara (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) led the Green Terror (1-1), winning five games at second doubles.

Emily Ruff and Alice Goldstein won the closest of the three doubles matches for the Gophers (1-1) by the 8-5 margin.

Amanda Bercovici led the way for Goucher, winning both matches without dropping a game. She and Kirsten Cianci won at No. 1 doubles 8-0 before she took a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first singles.

Nina Breece (Petamula, Calif./Petamula) led the way in singles for McDaniel, falling 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles to Ryan Derham.
