McDaniel competes at Patriot Games

All Green Terror competitors notch conference qualifiers

FAIRFAX, Va. – Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) finished seventh in the 400 to lead McDaniel at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason in women's indoor track and field action on Saturday.

Corson turned in a time of 1:01.92 in addition to her 18th-place performance in the 200, in which she finished in a time of 27.81 seconds to move into seventh place on the all-time performers list. Both times were season bests and Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying times.

Jasmine Scott (Derwood, Md./Bullis) finished 12th in the final of the 60, crossing in a time of 8.23 seconds, bettering her preliminary time by 0.02 seconds.

Scott was also 13th in the 200, turning in a season-best time of 27.05 seconds, which ranks fourth all-time.

Sarah Byron (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) rounded out the trio of CC qualifiers in the 200 with a time of 27.90, finishing 19th. She was also 21st in the 60 (8.60).

Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead) was 15th in the 400 with a conference-qualifying time of 1:04.28 and 13th in the 1,000 with a time of 3:24.98 to move into eighth place on the all-time performers list.

Missy Black (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) rounded out the competitors with a 12th-place showing the 1,000 (3:21.81) and 20th-place finish in the mile (5:36.64). The 1,000 time ranks her fifth all-time while the mile time was a CC qualifier and ranks seventh on the program's all-time list.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Sweetheart Multimix hosted by Navy on Feb. 10.
