McDaniel finishes fourth at Hopkins/Loyola

Ten different Green Terror athletes score points

BALTIMORE, Md. – Kelsey Dickman (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) finished second in the shot put and fourth in the discus to lead McDaniel to a fourth-place showing at the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Homecoming Meet in women’s track and field action on Friday.

The Green Terror accumulated 43 points in the four-team event. Johns Hopkins won the event easily with 309 points to second-place Loyola’s 185. Rutgers-Camden finished with 45 points.

Dickman toss of 11.22 meters was good enough for second place in the shot put while her hurl of 27.45 meters earned her fourth place in the discus. She was also eighth in the javelin with a throw of 16.85 meters.

Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) led the way on the track with a third-place showing in the 5,000 with a personal-best time of 19:34.07. Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) crossed right behind her in a time of 19:39.51 to earn both Centennial Conference qualifying marks in the event.

Emily Hajjar (Frederick, Md./Urbana) and Lisa Katchen (Kingsville, Md./Catholic) were sixth (22:18.44) and seventh (22:45.71), respectively, in the event.

Katherine Restrepo (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) finished third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.13 while Becca Koutsandreas (North Potomac, Md./Wooton) also tallied points in the event, finishing eighth in a time of 1:08.13.

Missy Black (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) crossed seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:40.91 and just missed amassing points in the 1,500 with a ninth-place time of 5:20.31.

Kelsey Hetrick (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and Aerielle Harris (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills) and rounded out top-eight finishers. Hetrick was sixth in the javelin (21.80 meters) while Harris was seventh in the long jump (4.19).

The Green Terror concludes action at the Messiah Multi Meet on Saturday before the entire team returns to action at the Mason-Dixon Invitational hosted by Gettysburg on Apr. 17.
