McDaniel competes at Messiah

Davidhizar finishes sixth in heptathlon to key weekend

GRANTHAM, Pa. – Heidi Davidhizar (Westminster, Md./South Range [Ohio]) finished sixth in the heptathlon to lead a trio of McDaniel athletes at the Messiah Invitational in women’s track and field action on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Davidhizar’s sixth-place showing keyed a four-point effort in the team standings for the Green Terror, who took just three athletes to the three-day event.

Davidhizar’s best finishes came in the 110 hurdles and javelin, where she finished second. She turned in a time of 15.84 seconds in the 110 hurdles and recorded a toss of 2786 meters in the javelin.

She was also third in the shot put with a hurl of 8.05 meters.

Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) rounded out the competitors, finishing eighth (5:06.87) and 13th (5:19.01), respectively, in the 1,500.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Mason-Dixon Invitational hosted by Gettysburg on Saturday.
