Corson, Dickman, Jones lead McDaniel at Millersville Metrics

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Kelsey Dickman (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) finished fourth in the shot put to lead McDaniel at the Millersville Metrics in women's outdoor track and field action on Saturday.

Decimated by sickness, the Green Terror had just eight athletes healthy to compete at the non-scoring event.

Dickman tossed her initial throw of the spring 11.33 meters to place fourth in the shot put and lead a quartet of Centennial Conference (CC) qualifiers.

Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) crossed 13th in the 400 hurdles with CC-qualifying time of 1:11.19.

Katie Jones (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) notched a pair of qualifiers in the field events, hitting the standard with a 15th-place showing in the shot put (9.72 meters) and 18th-place finish in the javelin (18.86).

Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) finished 20th in the 1,500, hitting the qualifying mark with a time of 5:13.38.

Laura Shinn (Weehawken, N.J./Pennington Prep) and Phoebe McHale (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) doubled in the 1,500 and 800. Shinn crossed in times of 5:43.37 (31st) and 2:48.02 (29th), respectively, while McHale registered times of 6:10.32 (33rd) and 3:07.70 (33rd).

Amber Slater (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and Forest Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) rounded out competitors, finishing 32nd (5:55.45) and 37th (7:03.68), respectively, in the 1,500.

The Green Terror returns to action at its own Twilight Meet on Wednesday. Action begins at 4 p.m.
