Friday night fight

Krobock records 13 digs

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Hannah Krobock (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) recorded 13 digs in a pair of 3-0 losses for McDaniel on the first day of the 2011 Lycoming Tip-Off Classic in non-conference volleyball action on Friday.

The Green Terror (0-17) opened the day with a 25-11, 25-7, 25-13 loss to Misericordia before Ithaca topped McDaniel, 25-8, 25-13, 25-10.

Against the Cougars (7-8), Krobock finished with 10 digs. Annie McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) led the attack with six kills. Brooke Sillaman (Crofton, Md./Arundel) added six assists and two aces.

Carly Zaklukiewicz led Misericordia with nine kills while Cailin McCullion chipped in seven kills. Kristin Hoffman added 18 assists and six digs.

Against the Bombers (11-11), Melissa Weldon (Broomall, Pa./Country Day School of the Sacred Heart) led the attack with four kills. Lauren Lewis (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) led the defense with four digs. McShea and Sillaman each had four assists and an ace. Sillaman added three digs while McShea had two.

Brit Pietrzykowski led Ithaca with six kills. Karin Edsall added 19 assists while Justine Duryea and Syline Kim had six and five aces, respectively. Marissa Woodcome chipped in nine digs.

McDaniel concludes action at the Lycoming Tip-Off Classic on Saturday. The Green Terror plays the host Warriors at 10 a.m.
