McShea records 28 kills

WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel split a home tri-match, including dropping the Centennial Conference (CC) opener to Muhlenberg in volleyball action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (4-7, 0-1 CC) opened the day, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Mules (8-3, 1-0 CC). Muhlenberg took the first set 25-18 before McDaniel evened the match with a 29-27 victory. The Mules completed the match with wins of 25-18 and 25-19, respectively.

In the day's second match, McDaniel swept Goucher (4-9), 25-15, 25-22, 25-20.

Annie McShea (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) led the way with 28 kills on the day, including 18 against Muhlenberg. Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) added 23 kills, including 13 against Goucher.

Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life) recorded 31 assists against Muhlenberg and 26 against Goucher to give her 57 on the day.

Julia Wainwright (Princeton Junction, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) added 19 digs against the Mules while McShea led the way with 18 against the Gophers. Wainwright had 15 to give her 34 on the day.

Kellen added five aces on the day – three against Muhlenberg and two against Goucher.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
