Making the grade
McDaniel College has announced its Dean’s List from the Fall 2013 semester and 115 Green Terror student-athletes, including 43 first-semester students, qualified for the honors.

Martin records 20 kills in ECAC tournament
Kloe Martin recorded 20 kills to lead McDaniel in the 2013 ECAC Southwest tournament at Bethany (W.Va.). The Green Terror finished the season, dropping a 3-0 decision to the host Bison in the semifinals before falling 3-0 to Grove City in the consolation match.

Two earn All-CC volleyball honors
Two members of the McDaniel volleyball team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference team. Kloe Martin was named to the first-team while Madeline Rose was tabbed honorable mention. Jessica Cortese was also named the conference’s Coach of the Year.

Kloe Martin led the Green Terror with 18 kills. Muhlenberg countered a 25-18 McDaniel second-set win with a 25-18 victory of its own in the third set en route to a 3-1 victory in the 2013 Centennial Conference semifinals.

McDaniel to battle for CC title
McDaniel will travel to Lancaster, Pa., in search of its third Centennial Conference volleyball championship this weekend. The third seeded Green Terror faces second-seeded Muhlenberg in Saturday’s second semifinal at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Kloe Martin led the Green Terror with nine kills, two aces and eight digs while Genna Weger had 12 digs. McDaniel won two close sets before walking away with the final set for a 3-1 victory over Johns Hopkins.

Genna Weger led the defensive charge, establishing a career high with 33 digs for the Green Terror, who wrapped up the match with a 30-28 victory in the fourth set. McDaniel recorded 115 digs as a team, ultimately prevailing in a back-and-forth fourth set to defeat Haverford, 3-1.

Genna Weger recorded 23 digs as part of the Green Terror's 3-2 win over the Bears before adding another 15 to lead the squad to a 3-0 victory over Penn State-Harrisburg. McDaniel trailed 2-1 before winning the fourth set and a close fifth set to catapult its way to a 2-0 day.

Kloe Martin recorded her 21st kill of the match to lead the Green Terror to its first conference win since 2010 by a 3-2 final over Bryn Mawr. McDaniel added a 3-0 win over Gwynedd-Mercy to make it a two-win day.

Colette Kellen led the Green Terror with 23 assists, 10 digs, four kills without an error, two blocks and an ace. McDaniel recorded three straight wins to make it six set victories in a row over Goucher, completing the home-and-home series with a 3-0 win at Goucher.

Caroline Savin led McDaniel on the day, notching 23 kills while hitting .553 in the two matches. She also added three total blocks. McDaniel took a pair of close sets to close out a 3-0 win over Goucher and salvage a home split. In the conference opener, the Green Terror dropped a 3-0 decision to Muhlenberg.
