Martin records 12 and 12

BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame (Md.) won three sets by two points each, including in the fifth and deciding set, to defeat McDaniel 3-2 in non-conference volleyball action on Wednesday.

Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) led the Green Terror (3-2) with her third double-double in five matches this season, recording 12 kills and 12 digs. She also had three aces.

The Gators (5-0) prevailed by matching 25-23 scores in the first two sets to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

McDaniel rallied, however, to win the third set 25-19 and the fourth set 25-15, forcing the deciding set. In the final set, Notre Dame edged out a 15-13 victory to remain undefeated on the season.

Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) added 11 kills, three blocks and three aces while Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) added nine kills and two blocks.

Colette Kellen (Derwood, Md./Covenant Life) added 23 assists to the attack while chipping in eight digs and two aces.

Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) steadied the defense with 14 digs while adding three aces.

The Green Terror returns to action at home in a trimatch against Muhlenberg and Goucher on Saturday. Action begins with the conference opener at 12 p.m.
