WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall took three close sets to defeat McDaniel 3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Tuesday.
Julie Harvey recorded 11 kills to pace the Diplomats (15-2, 5-0 CC), who remained as the only undefeated team in conference play halfway through the schedule.
In a first set that featured nine ties and five lead changes, neither team was able to open up a lead of more than three points until a Harvey kill capped a 5-1 burst that put Franklin & Marshall on top 19-15 to force a McDaniel timeout.

The Diplomats opened up a 5-2 lead in the second set before back-to-back Emme Petti (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) kills knotted the score at 9-all.
Tied at 14-all, a service error gave the serve back to Franklin & Marshall, which reeled off four straight points to open up an 18-14 advantage en route to a 25-22 victory.
The Diplomats jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the final set and led by as many as eight on a ball handling error that made it 20-12.
