Duday records six and seven

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin &Marshall controlled the first set en route to a 3-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Thursday.

Alexis Duday (Charlottesville, Va./Abermarle) paced the Green Terror (11-11, 3-3 CC) with six kills and seven digs.

Ellie Ezekiel led three players in double-digit kills for the Diplomats (14-6, 4-2 CC) with 11 knockdowns. Cassie Garison and Grace Polisano added 10 kills each.

Keyed by back-to-back kills by Chrstine Yoo, Franklin & Marshall reeled off the first eight points of the match and closed the first set on a 13-1 run to win, 25-6.

The second set featured 10 ties and five lead changes a pair of Polisano kills opened up a 20-16 edge en route to a 25-19 victory.

The third set had six ties and four lead changes through the first 17 points. A Garison kill gave Mary Leneweaver the serve with a 13-10 lead. She served the next eight Diplomat points to open up a 21-10 advantage before the hosts wrapped up the sweep, 25-16.

Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) steadied the McDaniel defense with 13 digs while Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Abermarle) added 11. Each added a service ace.

Lexi Corral (Tucson, Ariz./Gaithersburg [Md.]) added five kills and three blocks.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Gettysburg on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
