Bauman turns in all-tournament performance to key sweep

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – McDaniel swept a pair of matches, defeating Penn State-Harrisburg and Hood on the second day of the Battlefield Classic hosted by Gettysburg in volleyball action on Saturday.

Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) recorded another 31 digs for the Green Terror (3-1) to give her 68 in the four matches over the weekend and earn her a spot on the all-tournament team.

Against Penn State-Harrisburg (2-1), Marlowe Embry (Milpitas, Calif./J.H. Pitman) once again paced the attack in the 25-14, 25-23, 25-16 sweep with 11 kills. She also match Bauman with a team-best eight digs.

Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) added 10 assists and five digs.

Kendall Hanak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon) and Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) added three aces each.

Against Hood (0-4), Embry had 10 kills while Lorenzen added seven. Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) and Edelstein contributed 18 and 10 assists, respectively, to the attack.

Bauman led the defense with 23 digs and was one of three players with two aces. Lorenzen and Kennedy Barlond (Battle Creek, Mich./Pennfield) also each had a pair of aces. Barlond added nine digs.

The Green Terror returns to action in the home opener against York (Pa.) on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
