McDaniel to host Bethany in ECAC first round

DANBURY, Conn. – McDaniel learned on Monday afternoon that its season will continue with a selection to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III volleyball tournament.

The Green Terror (19-8) will host Bethany (22-12) in one of the first-round matches on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.

The winner of Wednesday's match will face the winner of the Brandies-Brooklyn first-round match on Saturday at Frostburg, beginning at 5 p.m. The semifinals and final will be on Sunday at Frostburg.

Freshman Marlowe Embry (Milpitas, Calif./J.H. Pitman) leads McDaniel with 234 kills and is third on the team with 249 digs. She has also added 20 aces and 15 total blocks.

Junior Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) leads the defense with a single-season program-record 561 digs and team-best 61 service aces.

Freshman Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) leads the way with 72 total blocks and is second on the team with 177 kills.

Freshman Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) and junior Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) have contributed 411 and 397 assists, respectively, to the attack. Edelstein is second on the team with 39 aces.
