With four years amassed as a Green Terror volleyball standout,
two as an assistant coach and the past 16 seasons as the head
coach, Molloy has been a part of over 600 matches in her career on
the Hill. Her incredible run has included eight postseason trips
– four as a player and four more on the sidelines.
Molloy’s success as a coach took little time to surface.
After her apprenticeship at then Western Maryland (now McDaniel) in
1986 and 1987, Molloy landed her first head coaching position at
Susquehanna. There, she led the Crusaders to a pair of 23-win
seasons and two Middle Atlantic Conference playoff berths in five
years, tying the program record for wins in a season.
In 1993, Molloy returned to her alma mater as the third coach in
program history. She led the Green Terror to its first Centennial
Conference title in 1994 and has kept the program at a peak level
since. In 1999, her squad shared the conference crown. Her
team’s high level of play has carried her into the AVCA
Tachikara Victory Club, hitting the century mark in 1993, earning
win No. 200 in 1998 and eclipsing the 300-win mark in 2005.
With a master’s degree in physical education administration
from Western Maryland, Molloy competed in volleyball, basketball
and track while an undergrad. As a senior, she won the Charles W.
Havens award, given to the senior student-athlete who best combines
athletic achievement and humanitarianism.
Molloy has served as chairperson of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region
Advisory Committee and was a member of the NCAA Division III
Women’s Volleyball Committee in 1997 and again from 1999
until 2001. A member of the American Volleyball Coaches
Association, she has served as a national poll voter since
1994.
Molloy resides in Carroll County with her husband Terry,
Westminster High School’s Coordinator of Facilities and
Athletics Director.
