WESTMINSTER, Md. – As with any individual sport, the goal is always the same – be performing your best at the end of the season. The same is true for the McDaniel cross country teams.
The Green Terror has strength at the top of both its men's and women's lineups but the key to success at the Centennial Conference Championships on Oct. 30 and NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals on Nov. 13 will be finding answers to the scoring depth.
The men have C.J. Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll), Ron Shriver (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) and Torin Lehmann (Sitka, Alaska/Sitka) will join with newcomer Jake Zamostny (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) to form a solid top four. The final piece will come in finding a consistent No. 5 runner to round out the scorers.
Lindsay Wilson (Catonsville, Md./Seton Keough) will once again lead the women's squad, aiming for a second all-conference and all-region performance. Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine), Missy Black (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead) are among the returners, who will likely provide the depth necessary for strong showings at the end of the season.
