McDaniel places 25 on Spring Academic Honor Roll

LANCASTER, Pa. – Twenty-five McDaniel College student-athletes have been named to the 2011 Centennial Conference (CC) Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced recently. To be nominated for the honor roll, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, be of sophomore standing or higher, and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.40. The honored Green Terror student-athletes are:

Baseball

Senior Matthew Bodnar (Douglasville, Pa./Central Catholic), sophomore Patrick Christopher (Union Beach, N.J./St. John Vianney), junior Jimmy Najera (Fort Washington, Md./DeMatha).

Women’s Golf

Senior Jennipher Bencriscutto (Oro Valley, Ariz./Ironwood Ridge), junior Katherine Restrepo (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area), Jennie Weiner (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville).

Men’s Lacrosse

Sophomore Michael Marks (Ellicott City, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti), senior Chris McLaughlin (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill).

Women’s Lacrosse

Sophomore Kerry Campbell (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus), sophomore Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), junior Steph Nichols (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark’s), junior Chelsea Watkins (Columbia, Md./Hammond).

Softball

Senior Megan Elfert (Finksburg, Md./Westminster), sophomore Leigh Blohm (Bel Air, Md./Toms River North [N.J.]), junior Erinne Warrenfeltz (Smithsburg, Md./Middletown).

In all, 382 student-athletes from the CC’s 11 member institutions were named to the 2011 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
