Conference winter academic honors announced

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference (CC) recently announced its academic honors for the winter sports season and 28 Green Terror athletes were named to the CC Winter Academic Honor Roll.

Women's swimming sophomore Blair Boyle (Springfield, N.J./Villa Walsh Academy) joined men's indoor track and field senior Gavin Gibson (Newark, Del./Sanford), senior Nevin Stambaugh (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) and junior Caleb White (Glen Burnie, Md./Baltimore City College) were named to the Academic All-Centennial team. Boyle earned honorable mention all-conference honors while Gibson was a first-team honoree. Stambaugh and White were second-team all-conference selections. The Academic All-Centennial team recognizes student-athletes who receive both all-conference and Academic Honor Roll honors.

The quartet was part of the 28 named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore standing or higher and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.40. The honored Green Terror student-athletes are:

Men's Basketball

Sophomore Stephen Lang (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville), Senior Isaac Ray (Fredericksburg, Pa./Northern Lebanon)

Women's Basketball

Sophomore Jayce Klingenberg (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley), junior Anna Mondoro (Dumfries, Va./Homeschool), junior Hannah Ravenscroft (Berryville, Va./ Clarke County), Sophomore Allyson Shipley (Manchester, Md./Delone Catholic [Pa.]), junior Liv Storer (Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia/Galen Catholic College), sophomore Caroline Ward (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore), junior Jamese Ward (Belmont, Mass./ Lexington Christian Academy), sophomore Hannah Zajac (Houston, Tx/ Clear Creek).

Senior Michael Brant (Wilmington, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts), sophomore Jose Pac (Quetzaltenango, Guatemala / International American School), senior Paul Van Nevel (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville).

Women's Swimming

In all, 482 student-athletes from the CC's 11 member institutions were named to the 2019 Winter Academic Honor Roll and 80 were tabbed Academic All-Centennial.
