WESTMINSTER, Md. – Penn State-Mont Alto scored six runs with two outs in the seventh inning to key a 7-4 victory over McDaniel in non-conference baseball action on Wednesday.

Nick Valori (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) led the Green Terror (6-10) with a 3-for-5 day at the plate, adding a run scored and an RBI.

Zeb Thorson had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Lions (1-3) offensively while pitching five innings of relief to pick up the win.

Trailing 2-1, a one-out error and fielder's choice gave Penn State-Mont Alto a runner on first with two outs in the top of the seventh.

Holden Baker followed with a line-drive single to right field before Thorson drove in the tying run with a single to left.

A Brady Griest walk loaded the bases for Matt Clark, whose two-run single to right field put the Lions in front, 4-2.

After a walk to Jeremy Pagan reloaded the bases, Jonathan Furness drove a ball to deep left to clear the bases and push the lead to five.

A Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) leadoff triple in the bottom of the frame followed by a Valori infield single cut the deficit to 7-3 but the Green Terror stranded the bases loaded for the second time in three innings – part of 14 runners left on base.

A Brandon Hayward (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) double and pair of wild pitches set the final margin.

Mont Alto jumped out to a 1-0 lead n a Josiah Furry leadoff single in the top of the third and Thorson one-out double.

Back-to-back two-out doubles from Valori and Marshall Betts (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) knotted the game in the bottom of the frame.

Hayward led off the home fourth with a double before taking third on a wild pitch and scoring on a Tom Gallo (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) RBI groundout for a 2-1 lead.

The Green Terror concludes the home-and-home series with Washington (Md.) in Chestertown on Friday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
