LANCASTER, Pa. – Three members of the McDaniel baseball team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Tuesday.
Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) was named to the first team while Kasey Nelson (St. Pete's Beach, Fla./St. Michael's [Md.]) earned second-team honors and Mike Dunn (Lanham, Md./DeMatha) was tabbed honorable mention.
Rosanova, a senior shortstop, is making his first all-conference appearance. Starting all 30 games, he hit .350 on the year and reached base in all 30 games. He finished second on the team with 42 hits, including five doubles and team bests of three triples and two home runs. He also stole 16 bases, which ranked third in the conference. He drew 14 walks and was hit by a pitch five times for a .433 on-base percentage. He scored a team-best 31 runs and drove in 27.
Nelson, a senior catcher, is making his first all-conference appearance. He started all 30 games and hit a team-best .371 on the year. He rapped out 46 hits, including a team-high 15 doubles. His 15 two-baggers ranked third in the conference this season. He slugged .516 on the year and had a .403 on-base percentage. He added a team-high 36 RBIs and scored 17 runs. As a catcher, he threw out seven would-be base stealers.
Dunn, a senior outfielder, made 16 starts – including the final 15 games of the season – among his 25 appearances. He hit .316 on the year with four doubles among his 18 hits. He also scored 15 runs and drove in seven. He drew nine walks for a .426 on-base percentage and did not have an error in 34 chances in center field.
The Green Terror finished the season with an overall record of 11-19 (4-14 CC).
