Collyer makes 15 saves

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 win over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey opener for both teams on Saturday.

Elizabeth Collyer (Rock Hall, Md./Kent County) led the Green Terror (1-5, 0-1 CC) with 15 saves in goal.

Erin Saybolt staked the 11th-ranked Bears (3-2, 1-0 CC) to a 1-0 lead just 1:20 into the game.

Brooke Overly put back a rebound for a 2-0 lead at the 7:05 mark.

Addie Roberts found the back of the net on another rebound in the 27th minute before Maria DiCioccio also scored on a rebound in the 63rd minute.

Ursinus finished with advantages of 36-4 in shots and 22-1 in penalty corners.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Gettsburg on Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
