Ford makes seven saves

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Muhlenberg scored three second-half goals to defeat McDaniel 3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Friday.

Paige Ford (Edgewater, Md./South River) led the Green Terror (2-13, 1-8 CC) with seven saves.

Stephi Rydgren led the Mules (5-9, 3-5 CC) with a pair of goals and an assist.

After a scoreless first half, Courtney Allen finished a centering pass from Rydgren just 3:39 into the second half for a 1-0 lead.

At the 54:38 mark, Rydgren knocked home a Laura Holdman feed before finishing an unassisted tally just five minutes later for the final score.

Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) took two shots for McDaniel.

Muhlenberg finished with a 13-4 advantage in shots, including by an 8-0 margin in the decisive second half. The Mules had a 17-1 advantage in corners as well.

The Green Terror returns to action at Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
